MadeInJapan
so what gauge do you want to put there? One reason I was posting here...to ask what will fit. I've seen the digital ones by Cyberdyne on eBay and am tempted...thinking they may fit, but not sure. Here's an example of one. They make ones with amber lights like this one, green lights, blue and I believe red too: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Amber-Cyber...sspagenameZWD1VApparently 52mm so it will be a tight fit if it goes at all...will measure tonight. mAydAy
Digital gauges suck. You have to look and read and process what they say. With an analog dial gauge, you can glance at them and all you need to do is glance at the needle's location on the dial. Turn the dials so that they're facing straight up when they're at proper operating levels, and you can tell if anythings wrong if its off from straight up. lextildeath
Hey, I am pretty proud of my install. It looks kinda ghetto because the boost gauge is round and is in a square hole, but it is temporary. I am all about good looks. I need to think of how I can close up those corners around the gauge and make it nice nice. I was thinking of using chewing gum and coloring it black with a magic marker. It would look so professionally done. . The point is, it is a good location, but you just have to make it blend in more with maybe some fiberglass or something cool. MadeInJapan
Thanks for the info about why digital is not the way to go on the gauge. Any input on where to buy a gauge an analog gauge that will fit (small....2 or 2.2 inches or there abouts in diameter....that's not an arm and a leg? NGB
almost any gauge maker offers 2 1/16 inch gauges, which are considered 2" gauges. Autometer isn't that expensive, ebay it!or www.autometer.com
MadeInJapan
Thanks for the information. I measured the opening and I'm going to have to go with 1.7 inches at the smallest to fit, so someone mentioned the 1.5 inch Stewart Warner gauges. I'm on a search now. lextildeath
Put the crack pipe down! It is seriously affecting your judgement! You put those turbo hoses down! You boost junkie! What ever do you mean? I have been bubble gum fabricating for over 3 years. I used to work on Ferarris only, but I have recently started on Volvos. I chew all the gum myself and use only the finest Orbit brand gum. If you prechew your own gum I will knock 40% off the price. I am actually thinking of making some kind of fiberglass pod that fits in the square hole and tapers out to a 52mm circle for the gauge. By the way, madeinjapan, 52mm is 2 1/16 in. It is the perfect size if you're looking to put it where I put it.Til next time, keep on chewin'Anthony P.

steve s
if u don't need a those switches... then this may work for u.http://www.blitz-performance.com/Blitz_Turbo_Timer_Dtt.htmit's a turbo timer, but it also functions as a digital boost gauge
javadoc
Yeah, I did this exactly.. sans the faux suede...It's not difficult to do, except the trickiest part was just drillng a decent hole into my vent hose (bad angle, really). I like it, it's inconspicuous and it took my wife a few months to notice it was there even.
MadeInJapan
Problem is that I have an S70, so I don't have the two vents on that side...just one. I would hate to lose the only one on that side.
MadeInJapan
Think I found a gauge that will fit in 2 of the switch locations on the dash, which is what I want to do. It's the 45mm Omori gauge. This is 1.77inches and should fit, though a very tight squeeze. Here's a link to the cheapest I found and it's on ebay...back lighting isn't the same as what's oem on Volovo's but it still might be nice. eBay What I want to know is if this will work otherwise...hose size, etc. I know these are typically sold for Subaru's and Toyota's.
