Need Graphic Design Help

Ok, first off, i don't have much cash to throw at this, but if i get what i want then i will.

Anyway, i finished school i guess about a month and a half ago, and have been pretty much unemployed since post christmas.

In my boredem and financial crisis i've decided to start my own business with some relic sign making equipment i have around my house (my dad ran a sign making business back in the 80s and early 90s).

Anyhow, i'm fighting to put a flyer together and start pushing my product, but one of the main hic-ups in doing that is that i want a cool logo to build this brand around.

My company (registered today) is "EZ Vinyl". My idea (and i'd execute if i had ANY graphic design skills) is a really old school typewriter font that is really worn.

I'd like "EZ" to be big on top and "Vinyl" to fit underneath and be scaled to fit. I can't really think of a way to describe the font - but this is my best attempt - like 'Courier New' but more like it came off a typewriter in the 60's. So, the whole 'stamp', didn't hit.

Anyhow, if you can come up with something, that'd be epic. Send me thumbnails if you want some cash for it, and we can go from there.

Thanks in advance guys!!

If I wasn't right in the middle of a graphic/diagrammatic design problem in my Architecture studio class I'd try to give you a hand.

if you still haven't figured anything out by the weekend then i may have some time then.

good luck :pizza:

Thanks for the help guys, but the contributions i got weren't quite what i was looking for.

I used some free fonts s40euro sent me, and put this together. I think i'm going to stick with it too!

Contact mmetz and or silvergti here on VS, they are both graphic designers and do kick ass work.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I erased and shapened some bits, but it's the look i was going for and have gotten a good response.

anyhow, money i can spend somewhere else. I'm trying to start this business on about $250!!

Well i already have the letter cutter from a business my dad abandoned a few years ago, so $250 to register, get some supplies, and print some bus. cars and flyers and i'll see what happens.

On that note Graydon, does mississauga Volvo do any on-car advertising - prices, features, ....?

Do you have any idea how much volvo charges, and/or if the dealerships are obligated to use Volvo Canada vinyl.

My machine won't do logos or anything, just basic text like "$44,995" "Turbo > NA" but i'm looking at charging something like $7+tax for a 3" x 13" ad, which i think is a lot cheaper than what Volvo Canada would do, and i just measured some at BK Volvo and they are only 3" x 12"
