whatme Posted February 7, 2006 Report Share Posted February 7, 2006 Well i just went to try and get an estimate for a 3" turbo back exhaust. Well they definently said everything i knew was wrong. When it was up in the air the guy pointed out like 5 places where he claimed the exhaust wouldnt fit, the the midcariage structural brace that goes over the exhaust piping. Then, when i was asking about just a cat back, he said that a muffler would never fit where i wanted it, at the very end of the pipe, with the tip of the muffler being the tip you see, because the hanger was in the wrong place. I dont really trust the guy to much and pictures of how you guys fit your exhaust in would help alot the next time i went and they claim that I am asking the impossible. Thanks for your help. I mean how nice would it be to have him tell me i want the impossible, then i pull out pictures of the impossible implemented And yah im getting it done somewhere else just because of his lack of knowledge but it wouldnt be fun to wait to get another estimate somewhere else and have the exact same thing said to me.... prasamin Posted February 7, 2006 Report Share Posted February 7, 2006 that guy is a nice guy. take it somewhere else. i forgot to mention in the PM that in the little metal brace plate at the middle of the car, they had to unscrew it, put the pipe under it, and then add a few washers to make it sit lower just so it wouldn't rub. prasamin Posted February 7, 2006 Report Share Posted February 7, 2006 as a side note, that big round muffler you see in the middle is no longer there....i took it out to install the rear sway bar, plus, it made that bend ridiculous....you can see my Magnaflow race series stainless muffler at the end...fits beautifully and it's a nice looking tip....i wish the tip was a tad longer to avoid blacking of the body kit, but I clean it frequently so it's not a big deal. you can see the heatshield i told you of, and you can see the brace with washers on it.Good luck, and tell your exhaust guy to suck it, and to make sure he has his thumb up his buttocks while he's sucking. He quoted me for basicaly a replacement of the piping and muffler at stock size, freaking rediculous.Thank you very much for the picks, that is exactly what i needed.
