RS7
I haven't ever gotten a group buy to gather but id be happy to do it if needed. I would think it would be very annoying to quaife if every one called but i will call Harley @ Quaife tomorrow and see what he sais. How do people usually organize group buys?OK.... lets get a list going. 1 ZuluKing 2 BREAKAWAY3 BSR rckt4 Project T-5R5 The Underlord6 Javadoc7 WhiteT58 VolvoFan 9 C70pusher10 jeremy11 Jross12.RS7
mAydAy
Truetracs slip and burn up. Several turbobricks members have had problems with just that.Sure, lift throttle lockup is an issue. But its like driving a 911 for instance where throttle lift equals donuts, its all part of the territory. If you know what you're doing, its no problem. If you don't, well, sucks for you and shouldn't have been driving it
javadoc
Don - Any information on relative slip rates or losses from the two styles of LSD? +1, this is important information. Don't the ATB, gear-type diffs not have any pre-set slip rates b/c they're a constant torque-biasing unit? Also, not (yet) having an M56 unit, anyone care to briefly describe what goes into swapping a diff in these trannies? At any rate, for anyone who has not driven a car without and then with a Quaife LSD, it makes a complete world of difference.
BlackT5
Peter says they only have used Quaife diffs. I have requested more information; such as: if they're selling them, how used they are, price and quantity.

Way back when Westwood raceway was still operating in Canada, I was racing a 128 Fiat, FWD. I locked the diff and instantly trimed a full second off my time! trance42
I spoke with Harleigh at Quaife a few minutes agoe. He told me that we would need 15 people for them to produce a set of 30 and that the price would probably be 1300-1500. This is still the best price i have come across. These numbers are not solid though. Not sure why he quoted 800-900 to zulu. He also said the way they usually do this is have a retailer purchase them and distribute them to the group. I have a retailer and i will contact him also today. I need to make some calls and find out a little more information. We have 12 people on the list so far. How manny of you are still interested at the 1300-1500 price range. I know its alomost double what we were thinking but its still the best price and anyone who is thinking about substantial hp gains would need this. He quoted $800-$900 to zulu, and Don said the UK RETAIL price is $900. That coincides with the price zulu was quoted. Now that they have real interest the price almost doubles?!? Harleigh himself is not the final say so on the price. He has to talk to his boss and find out. I talked to the retailer and he is going to contact Harleigh himself. We will have some solid info on the price soon.

Slater
wtf he quoted me less than 900 . fck 1500 for a lsd.So the price changes like pulling a slot machine. Nice. How about we just randomly call and if you get the $1500 or $1300 price, hang up. But whoever gets quoted sub-900 PLACE AN ORDER for the group buy! Like a game. Yeah, true, but when it's a company calling vs. a private individual, sometimes they feel more inclined to listen and throw the 350% markup out the window.
