Matts 850 GLT
HiI am taking a trip and will have to leave my car at the airport for three weeks. Question: The battery is 24 months old, if I disconnect it and leave it in the trunk will it go flat on me?ThanksMatt
pfeener
Assuming it's not going to be below zero every night; the battery will be fine; even if you leave it connected. I have a "Summer" car that I leave parked in the garage over the Winter months. Unless I leave it for 2-3 months without starting it, it's fine. racevolvo
I don't see why it would.
robert213
You battery will be fine -- providing that some jerk doesn't set off your car alarm. If you are concerned about that, just disconnect the negative terminal of battery. There is no need to remove both cables and put in trunk. rp850
You should be fine. Usually those type of parking lots usually have portable jump starters just in case. I've also seen solar powered trickle chargers that might just give you some piece of mind while you're gone. HiI am taking a trip and will have to leave my car at the airport for three weeks. javadoc
I left mine for 2.5wks in December, in the garage, and it fired right up. You shouldn't have anything drawing that hard when the car's off to drain the battery.
Matts 850 GLT
HiWell I got back to England on monday morning and the car started up perfectly, first time. I was very pleased, considering the cold damp UK weather.Matt
