RAzOR
I haven't kept up with the market and a lot of the reviews are wishy washy. Any real world recommendations?
javadoc
I'd say a Valentine 1, or an Passport. Both will set you back about the amount of a "20-over" ticket, less your increased insurance premiums.

Gregg
The K40 RD850 is also a good choice. I used mine for about a year and it only saved me a couple of times because I really don't speed much, but it still did its job. The K40's range is at least two to three times that of a any Cobra radar detector (those are crap).
HtownTurboBrick
is money a factor? if not K40...buddy of mine's dad has it on his Q45...lets just say state trooper's lazer detector had a hard time clocking his 100+ . if money is a factor V1 all the way n lower down the cheap bastard board i have my Cobra XRS 9700CS, she entertains me w/ her talk on those long dark road trips. Asinine
All your cops still use radar guns right, not lasers?

Fake Name
I've used the Passport 8500 with great success. But remember, most radar is instant-on, which means the noise it makes is it's way of saying,"Congratulations, you've just earned a Meritorious Driving Award".But it FEELS like you are being protected.fn
brick-a-brac
You may want to do some research on this, as I was about to drop the $$ for a Valentine until I read some comparison tests between the V1, the Passport 8500 and the Bel RX65 Professional. I bought the Bel. It is able to pick up X (which no police gun shoots anymore), K, Ka, Ku (European, but apparently on its way here), and laser. It is also programmable. My .02 ---
RAzOR
V1... anddd moooooved... mod slayer indeed... WELL!? It was a tough one. I did study the forum descriptions a bit and figured you were going to move it anyway so I started where I figured I'd get the most love before the "Tall Man" catches up to me.
