Vitor
My 96 850 GLT will drain a new battery in 2-3 days. The chrarging system is OK, the battery load test holds well.I connected a DVOM in line with the battery and I got a 0.16 Amp continuos draw. I made sure all the interior lights were off and waited until all the systems settled down.I pulled the fuses one by one until I go to #15, alarm system. The draw goes down to 0.06 Amps.Is this draw normal? If not, what should be normal?
Bob S
On a 1996 854 T5, I was having alarm problems - the lights would flash for several minutes at regular intervals, draining the battery. Until I replace the alarm module, I have been leaving the car unlocked so that the alarm wouldn't act up. Now lately, the battery is also draining in 2-3 days with the car not even locked (alarm "off"- not armed. This sounds very similar - and I also checked amp draws from the fuse box. It sounds like you may also need a new alarm module. They are $385. from Volvo -but about $50 give or take used.
bobcat
do the maths, you know the current draw, look at the battery and find it amp hour rating. then from that you can work out how long the battery will last at your current flow. if it is 3 days the the current draw is the prob, if not your battery has probably had it!!!at small car battery is about 50 amp hours, so at 0.16amps you should get about 13 days supply.
