tallahasseegreys
What up with these volvo wiper arms? I've never owned a car that required constant tightening of of these nuts!!!!Is there any reason I can't/shouldn't put a lock washer between the arm and the 13mm nut? If I can, what type of lock washer...star, lockring....???

beachnut
Are you sure the splines on the motor shaft or the arms aren't just worn out?
merlin390
Call the guys at FCP and get another arm I had the same problem and attempted the same fix and finally I replaced the arm and all is well.
Guest AlvinL
I remember this happening on my former 850. The arm's splines wore out and kept slipping even after the nut was tightened all the way down until the nut eventually bottomed out. You can buy yourself more time by using a washer between the nut and arm that has a larger inside diameter than the wiper's center spline.
