umm...dont remember what they are called.....this is painfull to say...the oem 17"

5-spoke rims?

what year is your car?

OEM 17" rims on 850 were Titan, and Volan... so you've got 245-45-17's on a 17"x7" Titan..

yea, that's exactly why you're right to comment on how close the tire is to the fenderwell.

EDIT - 854 T5r.. just noticed..

Titans..

so then would lowering be a problem? I mean it seems like if it was lowered more than an inch it would rub the wheel well everytime i hit a bump at all if the wheels werent perfectly straight

i would definitely say you'll have a problem if you lower the car.

IMO:

17x7" rims would do best with a 205-45/17 or 215-45-17.

are the 245's just thicker? Im actualy buying a new set of tires soon.... if you could suggest a good high performance tire that would fit the rim that is quite as expensive as the pilots it would save me the tedious hours of research my dad will surely make me do...

find the thread about tire reviews

or hop on http://www.tirerack.com or http://www.1010tires.com and find yourself a nice set of 215/45/17 tires

245/45/17 is much wider and much taller sidewall than the oem size of 205/45/17. Really, that size tire does not belong on a 17x7 rim. where did those tires come from anyways?

hmmm...actualy i seem to remember now that he said something about those being recomended by the dealer because he burnt up the pair that were on it pretty quick....then again this was the dealer that sold the volvo to him for 12,000 under list because they were going out of buisness, so im not to sure about their reliability....

awww gregg, cant you stop being a stickler and just give me the easy way out!

EDIT: Hahahahaha, just went to tire rack and put in all my criteria....no results...maybe i need to broaden my requirements....Ok...there is nothing I can do to make tirerack.com come up with results...
