ill probably have an answer for you tommorow unless he wont race... Hes actualy captian of our *coughtennisteamcough* and doesnt ever mention (actualy i found out it was his when i saw him get into it today  ) but hes the punk type that will take any challenge.... im to impatient to wait for the speedtunning/16t that i am on the brink of. It will be a good before and after comparison.

new air filter....how about an oil change? or maybe a tire rotation.... or just say i hit the eco switch by accident.

Yeah, EXACTLY...pull a complete ricer line, but wait 'til u have all ur stuff done (turbo, chip, etc) and THEN say it. Be like "Hey dude, I just found out I had the ECON button on when we raced, and plus I just changed my oil, let out some air in the front tires, and put in a new air filter. Oh and I put in some NOS fuel booster, I think we should race again." :)

Buy a nos sticker from pepboys or something and stick it on the back window. When he asks why ill just point to the sticker and be like "they said it adds 40 hp.." The funny thing will be to see him choke on his laughter as i blow by.

with the 16t at 21 psi i think i should be fine....as long as my stock turbo hoses dont just decentigrate...that wouldnt be fun... Should probably make atleast 280 crank horses.... i think that the weight difference should cover the horsepower difference

Plus u run the risk of heating up ur block and creating some problems...blown HG, bent rod, cooked oil, cooked coolant, and so on. There's a fine line between what boost u wanna run, and what u don't. Sometimes it's just a good idea to not flirt w/ it unless u're know how to tune like a pro. Just turn ur MBC up to 17psi and see how it does. The ST chip is mapped to run fairly rich, probably an 8-9:1 air-to-fuel ratio, which is completely safe for ur engine. Honestly it would be a very smart idea to get widebands hooked up and run a high-quality AFR meter/gauge and know exactly how the air/fuel mixture is at every rpm in the power band. An EGT is also a good way of knowing...too hot means u're leaned out (too much air and not enough fuel), too cool means u're riched out (too much fuel and not enough air). A rich mixture won't put out the power that a lean mixture will, but it's safer for the engine and everything else under the hood. Getting on a dyno and looking at the power band can give u a relative point of view on where u're AFR is too rich, too lean, and just right. When u see a dyno sheet that looks like a heartbeat sensor pulsing up and down as it gradually gets higher at redline means the fuel mapping has some flaws. A good tuner can hook up a computer and tune the fuel mapping for every single engine rpm and get the power band in the shape u want it. All it takes is time and money.

To do it cheap style (like me), just get a good MBC (TurboXS or Dawes Devices) and slowly work ur way up to the 17psi mapping for the ST chip, then turn it up to 18psi, then maybe even 19psi. Either way, u better have a good EGT wired up for accurate readings, or widebands and AFR gauge and keep a close eye...that extra pound or two of boost isn't worth f--king up ur engine. Take it slow and easy, and u'll be a lot happier in the long run. Remember that the colder the air is, the denser it is, so the boost will read accordingly. A single tuning on ur MBC might get 15psi at 90 degrees F, and 22psi at 10 degrees F. So always keep a close eye on it and adjust it accordlingly. Just get an Autometer or VDO boost and EGT gauge and get them set up properly, and u'll be fine.

edit: w/ a high-flow intake (K&N, Weapon R, etc), 3" downpipe, 2.5-3" exhaust w/ straight thru mufflers/resonators, ST chip, MBC, and practiced launches, u should be able to get ur T5-R in the 13s. W/ all that on a good stage 0 (O2 sensors, fuel pump/filter, spark plugs, plug wires, ignition coil, etc), u'll be making anywhere from 300-315bhp (hp at the crank), and that's as much as the new Mustang GTs or LS1. Having all that, u should be able to take about 70% of the cars on the road from dig, and 85% from a roll. If u get beat, no biggie...there's always a faster car out there. And trust me, once u get ur 850 running high 13s in the 1/4, u'll turn plenty of heads. Even on a bad boost leak and probably running a 15.0 in the 1/4, I still impressed a lot of people w/ mine.

i am in no way worried about running lean since i will be using the ST 17 psi chip. I've been asking someone who has run the 16t up to 19 psi with the same chip and he said that the ST chip had the same AFR at 17, 19, and 20 psi.

and im planning on a full 3 inch turbo back sometime later once i have money.

By the way it takes a little more than that to get to a flat 14, much less sub fourteens. I would need an 18T or 19T and maybe an intercooler. Much under a 13.8 you get into needing a manual or redone auto and pistons/rods. It isnt exctly easy to get bellow a 14...

Ryan (ToxicLemonade) ran a 14.4 w/ only the ST chip running off the BCS (17psi) and 15G. U don't need an 18T to hit 13s.
