Leo850T5 Posted March 11, 2006 Report Share Posted March 11, 2006 Actually I bet the 5.5 sec 0-60 time is with a very good driver and a very high clutch drop. I used to own a DSM and the 0-60 was all about how bad you wanted to smoke your clutch. Do you think the driver knows how or wants to do to a 4500+ rpm clutch drop? And the big question is will the tranny survive it?Also 315 lb/ft of torque isn't a ton when you consider the car weighs in at close to 4000 lbs. With a chip and some mods a T5 can make that. I'm not saying the Volvo will win, but there seems to be a lot of mag racing going on with the 300GT VR4. Most of the ones I see are beat to crap. Very few are the ones that are actually tuned. Either way you need to know how to drive to make an AWD manual car fast. If you don't it is bog city and playing catch up.yea, 5.5 is probably with a high clutch drop but if you launch it normally without risking the tranny i doubt it will still be slower than the volvo... i mean once the car really kicks into higher RPMs i bet it's a rocket Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
daswedes Posted April 8, 2006 Report Share Posted April 8, 2006 Well hi everybody Im a newbie but here is my experience with the sister car of the vr4. I ran a 92 dodge stealth tt and held with it very easily. My car is 98 glt t s70 no mods. Stop light to 80 I held with him within a car lenth. Which for me I was thrilled, a 4 door VOLVO vs a 300 horse awd car. Either this kid did not no how to drive or this car was worn, Anyhow getting back to the percentage of cars that are in excellent running condition and almost 15 years of age I think a T5 should have no problem running a dsm car and beating it. :D Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I mean, at the stop lights, the 3000GT was putting like 5 car lengths on him. In the drag race at the end they're dead even.I say the 911 turbo driver didn't know how to drive.
