JHEIII874T5M
So I just picked up a Panasonic 5301U for $129 including a 3 yr service plan from Circuit City (display unit)... but it didn't come with the head unit's cage. I installed the head unit, wires, etc... and realized there is no cage with it. I just velcroed it to the top of the stock radio hole area for now. Any suggestions on where or how to get a cage? Are these things sold seperately?
TM850R
I think everyone is waiting for Bing to respond here. I would assume if you contact Panasonic you will be able to get something.

TM850R
Would other Panasonic HU's use the same specs for size? If so maybe you can just buy a really old one on ebay and switch em out.

HtownTurboBrick
any audio shop should b able to give u one. but if its missing the cage and the remote i think they sold u one of the store's display models, i'd go back n tell them to give u a new one. when i bought my screen from cartoys they didn't have any of the equipment thats supposed to go with it, but i got it for $300 when brand new it was $1500 so i really didn't care. Bing_0
lol...its no big deal, like said abovetwo options:1. go to any store, and be like, yo i need a panasonic cage, i wille ven give you a buck for it, every shop, at least most everyone, should have a box filled with cages, if its a nice shop, they will let you dig through it and find it...2. if for some reason no shop can do that, go find ANY cage, i mean ANY cage. slide the headunit in to the desiired location, wrap electrica tape or duc tape all around the back so the two becomes one, and then slide that sucker into the opening, our dash opening sucks for the cages to grab on anyway, so i usually dab a slight bid of adhesive along the rails and make it stick in there...done...and no, this is not ghetoo, its just the only way to make it work, then its fine, its not unsafe, and it cant be seen, so its not ghetto, the only thing that should be called ghetto is if its:1. unsafe to the car2. not secured3. looks badif the procedure works, then its fine b
AnthonyR
If you can't find a cage, I've got a box of them at my shop (I work for Circuit City as an installer) let me know if you need one, I may even have a face case and remote laying around too.
