Chris_R
That's pretty sweet - even if that is free air excursion. Wonder what it would do in a sealed box. What are the enclosure recommendations for that sub? Cost?

VOLVO S70
bing would those subs compare to the jl audio 6" sub? or is the jl better.
Bing_0
i ahve no doubt that these should pretty much kill a 6w0 in terms of low freq response and output...not saying the 6w0 is bad at all, its a great little sub...but the jl is a 7.6mm xmax versus 13mm on the edesign...b
NGB
the jl is a 7.6mm xmax versus 13mm on the edesign...Basically the ED pwns the JL. Bing, thats pretty incredible. Whats the power handing on those suckers?

Owned
Whats the power handing on those suckers? From the manufacturer cut sheet:System Type Bass Driver Midrange 6.5 Power Handling 150 Watts RMS Frequency Response 20 - 1KHz Sensitivity 85dB Final Impedance Dual 2 -or- Dual 4 Mounting Depth 3.72 Mount Diameter 6.0 Overall Front Diameter 7.0 I've seen these before. They're very cool little drivers!Wow, I assume there is no way to mount those in place of our stock locations. I wouldn't try using the stock grill, but if you really wanted to get it in the back doors or something, it wouldn't be too bad of an install. Bing_0
the nice thing about ed is tat htey are a engineering driven firm, focused on that and not a lot of marketing, so all the money goes into their products i am not so sure about doing it in the door, ia ms ure he door woudl rattle like hell, and it would sound more like a midbass than a sub int he rear doorb
Owned
i am not so sure about doing it in the door, ia ms ure he door woudl rattle like hell, and it would sound more like a midbass than a sub int he rear door The stock paper POS speak rattles the heck out of the door as-is. I wouldn't recomend it. But if you really wanted to, you could do it.I've heard of people running these in a giant 30Hz box @ 300 RMS each (crossover @ 200) and pounding the crap out of them and they still go strong and get very loud. If you use these correctly, they can be very sweet indeed.
