Yellow Headlights

Recommended Posts

One of the members here (850Charisma) noticed my avitar and my headlights on my car. He said some of you might be interested in them. So here is a quick post with some pics

I would of added some night time shots but no matter what I tried I couldn't really get a good picture showing what the lights look like at night time. They still look white. But trust me in person they are yellow.

I've always liked that old-fashioned french yellow headlight look.

A few guys around here are rocking yellow film on their foglights, but due to tight-azz US cops nobody can seem to get away w/ yellow headlight film.

I have never seen that before on a Volvo, only on old JDM style Hondas. It looks alright, but I say amber the signals as well.

I was thinking about doing the side markers yellow as well but decided against it. The cops here have better things to do then write you a $47 ticket for a off color headlight.

i had yellow headlight BULBS installed....and also got pulled over.

I had yellow bulbs initially but one burned out. I could install the yellow headlight film one time as opposed to forking over $40 each time for bulbs.

yellow lights, fog or headlights are legal here. i got 3 buddies w/ yellow lightbulbs in their headlights. cops don't have a problem with them at all. how can u get in trouble for yellow fogs? or they just have a problem with the yellow film? if i remember correctly older lexus's had yellow lenses before they started using 3500k HID's so i don't see how they could prove u have film.

Edit: Great job! I like the look, but definitely support yellowing the turn signals too.

I spoke with an UltraShield dealer about this. He used to install the StonGard film on headlights too, but stopped dealing it since most laws prohibit ANY coverings on the headlights: clear or tinted. If a cop is bored enough, or has pulled you over for something else, they can always write a fix-it ticket for the HL film. I'd imagine yellow would be an exception as it's common in older cars, versus: red/blue/smoke tint which is obviously custom and obviously a potential safety hazard.

Again, it's subjective to where you're at and what else might attract the wrong attention. However, I'm pretty sure it's all technically illegal pretty much everywhere. Unless you've actually looked and not found such a law, having friends that haven't been caught doesn't justify legality. You may well be right; some states may actually allow it.

lol, oops maybe i should of mentioned that 2 of them are state certified safety inspectors for jiffy lube. so they kinda have the heads up on the exact safety regulations for vehicles in texas. the front light color spectrum is white to amber and the rear lights are amber to red. red/blue and smoke are obviously a saftey hazard but i think i've actually seen someone put blue tint on. even thos GTO black light covers are listed as off road use only, but i see so many cars with them on around here...cops don't seem to bust ppl w/ them enough. how can u tell u you're breaking if your lights are black.
