Yellow Headlights

Recommended Posts

It looks like somebody peed on them. :P My high beams are 100W Silverstars, they're yellow when they're lit up and almost as bright as an HID bulb. They have that anodized or whatever coating on the bulb so it looks really cool during the day. My new purple 9006 and H3 bulbs aren't that purple, so I might do what u did w/ purple.

No not like a cheap standard bulb yellow...I mean like a hot bright yellow, I swear it's about as bright as a xenon. From 100 yards speed limit signs have at times nearly blinded me w/ reflection.

Headlights looking very nice but why does the passenger's side look darker than the other?

Its just the lighting from where the pictures were taken but both lights are the same in color.

i think yellow bulbs would look cleaner but thumbs up for creativty! do you notice a difference driving in rain at night?

I had yellow bulbs originally but after one side burnt out I thought I would try these instead. They are just as yellow as a yellow bulb & I kinda like the GT2 look. I still have yellow bulbs for my high beams, and let me tell you that is super yellow. At night time with either the film or the bulbs there is a decrease in the amount of light. I think Daniel Stern said its about 12% dimmer then a regular halogen bulb. I am city driving 95% of the time so the decrease in the quality of light has not affected me. In inclement weather, ie. fog, snow flurries, rain ect. the visibility is better. There is less reflection off of those elements. What I would like to do is get a set of yellow HID's and see what those are like.

yellow lights give more definition and outline to objects on the road, compared to halogens. thats why soilders use red lamps to illimuniate dark areas on field missions. you may have less light, but you have clearer visibility of what your looking at.
Actually, I believe the reason for using red is because it has the least negative effect on night vision.
