Zappo
how about axle? do we need to buy manual transmision axle or automatic works? Autos will work just fine. There is a visual difference between the turbo and non-turbo axles, but a lot of places don't even sell the non-turbo ones anymore since they all fit. AnthonyR
Auto driveshafts will workI have the single mass NA spec clutch kitthe center console black piece has a smaller opening with bumps for use with the shift boot and holding it on properly, not overly needed. bloc
i havnt put my console back togather completly. what is the manual center console black piece.what is The shift box? and i guess i should know this but what the pilot bearing is. hopefully its not something i left out."shift box" is the actual shifter that you install in the center console. center console black piece would be the trim surrounding that. pilot bearing is a little bushing that goes into the end of the crank shaft to stabilize the input shaft from the transmission. if you didnt put this in, you need to. some cars come without a pilot bearing, whether or not it's needed depends on the transmission design. on the volvos, apparently it's needed. Zappo
Yes I took lots of pics, just never got around to resizing and processing them for the internet. Slacker. My biggest issue was the flywheel, but if I can just use the NA one, all should be good.
bloc
yeah the NA flywheel makes this a whole lot easier and cheaper. i was ready to drop 400 bux on a new turbo flywheel.Justin
AnthonyR
plus the NA is single mass, which doesn't have any of the supposed issues of mis-installation that the dual mass has.
Zappo
Do you need the special alignment tool for the single mass?
bloc
a regular clutch disk alignment tool should be all you need.personally i dont like using those things. i've always been able to eyeball it to a more accurate state than the tools anyway. AnthonyR
He's correct I used a screwdriver and my eyes to align. I had the volvo tool and tried to use it to align, but it was much easier to align by eyesight. It's the dual mass that you need the spring compressor tool.
