AnthonyR
Hello,By Monday I will have an initial batch of about 10 connectors ready to ship. If you want one post here. I was thinking $30 shipped to your door. If this all goes well and more people want them I will make another batch of them up.Pictures of these will be up on Friday and they will be a 6pin DIN to 4 RCA outs (Front Left, Front Right, Rear Left and Rear Right) and will feature a 12V switched power lead to hook up to your amp's remote turn on lead. Also will feature Cat5 twisted pair construction.
dunebarcode
I may be. I'm not too good with a soldering gun. Which gauge wire should I run for the 12v line. I was thinking 4 gauge, but I'm worried that it will be too big to run under the door steps.

The +12V that will be coming out of this is a low current lead that you will only need like 20ga cause it just tells the amp to turn on, it doesn't actually power it. JPigg34
I made the 2 channel one so how would I go about making a 4 channel DIN. I'm about to add another amp. If you could just put the diagram up of what each pin does I could figure it out from there. Also I bought this RCA multiplier thing makes one RCA plug two RCA's. Would I be better off using the RCA multiplier or making a 4 channel DIN plug? Which would give me the best sound quality? Or would the difference be so small I wouldn't notice? Thanks
steve s
altho the hu isn't the greatest, i think it'd probably be better if u used the 4 channels rather than splitting the two... i mean, if u split the two, and the two are only the rear... if u move the fader to the front...there'd be no sound..imagestation pics don't work too well here...here's the albumblack: remote turn on..i think...white: ground...i think..red: leftblue: rightor was it red and blue front and rear...i can't remember the exact orientation, was a while ago...but i'm sure anthony has the pics too...or if u wish i could tell u a day or two from now when i get to drive the car.. AnthonyR
im pretty confused here...if i just got a 2channel din connector my front speakers wouldnt work? You have a 93 850 right? As long as you don't have a factory amp this connector will work fine. You won't loose any channels of audio by using these, they will still work just fine. I got the parts last night and I'm going to piece everything together this weekend and I'll post pics here when I'm done.
mAydAy
I'm completely confused, what will using one of these allow you to do? Somehow I want to split off my head (Aftermarket - Sony CDX-M750) and run some speakers through an amp. Is that what this is used for or somethign else? steve s
anthony's 6-pin din will allow u to run the amp directly to the stock headunit. u will need to wire the speaker directly to the amp by either 1) ur own separate speaker wires or 2) cut into the stock speaker wires and hook up the speakers using those
Guest Guest
Do you have a pinout for this. I have made a DIN plug (6 Pins are hard to find. Found a 5 Pin and added the 6th) I tried to determine the Pin Out myself, but every pin was showing 12Volts out??? The center or 6th pin is Ground. When I faded forward back and left to right I never saw a Voltage change on any of the pins, they all still showed 12 Volts, which I thought was strange.Do you know if 12 Volts is correct, and how did you determine the pinout?Any help is appreciated. AnthonyR
I used a multimeter. Remember, the voltage going to the speakers is AC not DC and will be less than 1Volthttp://www.volvospeed.com/obd2/03-RCA-Diagram.JPGthe 6pin connector you're looking for is a 6pin 240degree connector. Aftermarket HU already have preouts. This plug allows for your stock HU to have preouts.
