sks40
Recently I have noticed my S40 making a thunk noise when I go from coast to accelerate and vise versa. Could it be a motor mount going bad? I only have 27K miles.Stan
Mesoam
Motor mounts shouldn't be bad for only 27k mi...What year is your S40? I think there was some ECU software update for some of the S40's
durga_the_hutt
If you had a motor mount issue you'd feel it as much as anything.
Bay13
The upper passenger side motor mount needs lubrications now and then or it can cause a noise like you have described. Lift the hood, foot on the brake good, parking brake on and go from R to D and you will be able to see if it's that mount.
sks40
Thanks, I'll give the R to D a try. Also, what type of lube should be used?By the way, it is a 2002.ThanksStan
