Sc 811 Telephone Mute Function

I remeber a topic around here a few months back about this on the sc 816. Did the sc 811 ever have the option of using a phone with your speakers?

Short A9 to ground to get the phone message. I'm sure that the SC-811 has this "undocumented" feature like the SC-816 does.

Do you know when this is done on the sc 816, does the phone actually come through the speakers of the car, or was it just a funciton to mute the sound? And if so, how would one go about with the audio in for the phone line?

The phone doesn't use the car speakers at all - althought I suppose that with a little clever engineering, you could get the phone speaker to work through the car speakers.

I bought a "hands free" car kit for my cell phone, and a signal wire on the car kit provided a ground to pin A9 which muted the stereo, paused the CD, and displayed the Phone message on the SC-816 display. The car kit provides its own speaker, and a microphone which is attached to the windshield. Here is a picture of the car kit:
