Jacob
You used the 6 AL on your Audi? It says its forcyl 6 and 8 cyl even fire only applications. How difficult was that to install?4000s Quattro I5... 1984... Mechanical injection... Those were the days...Haha, that even fire BS is only to use the rev - limiter without doing math. Fortunately, I like math. So it wasn't a problem.Installation wasn't "easy" but it was "simple". It just replaced the ignition module, I just hooked it up to the distributor and power, and ground, and it was in. I just ran it in 6 cylinder mode. All it does is give you a spark when it sees the hall sensor peak, so it couldn't care less how many cylinders your running. After it installed I did not see an increase in power, but it idled SOOOO much smoother. And it litterly sounded better throughout the RPM range.I am sure someone here has run a 6A or AL on their 5 banger, no?

Yes... a few have, however as far as math and rev-limiters go, we did that for Ben's MSD Window Switch. MSD got a kick out of that when I called them and talked about the math with them.
PullMyFinger
So then, to set the rev limiter using 6 cyl tach output, you just set it to 8,400 rpm. And that is in turn 7,000 rpm for 5 cyl? hehe, clever :)
