Use an 18T, from a scientific standpoint it make more sense. Add and intercooler and some Rica and you're well on your way.

I think you'd get pretty darn close with that, assuming everything else is in ship shape. Is there a reason you picked "350"? If you go all out, you'll see what Overladded did: 500+ at the treads. Freaking awesome video; i still amaze anyone and everyone i show it to.

I doubt an 18T will get you over 300-315 wheel *tops* (Kevin will probably show us firsthand... Though he has manual and less drivetrain loss).

A 19T will get you a little closer, but honestly you will have to look outside of the range of Volvo turbos unless you are doing some serious tuning magic and complete optimization of every other component in the system.

Well, last week there was a T5R with a manual swap and a GT30 that put down 355 whp in Houston.... he's kinda anti-VS though....

it's not the end of the world if you have to fab up new oil/water lines, and it opens up your turbo choices considerably.

how much boost? stock cams? should be capable of far more than that. im considering swapping over to a 30R on my 240sx very shortly.......with the rest of the current setup as is, it should make around 475rwhp on 93 oct.

You can doubt all you like. Try taking a look at compressor maps, then make your decision. Don't just think because everyone else says so it must be the best. I have yet to see anyone show why the 19T is a better choice.

The two are nearly identical when you compare the maps. The 18T is more efficent under most conditions, while the 19T has a 15CFM higher surge point. I highly doubt anyone running these is approaching 500cfm though, since they would be better off with a different turbo at that point. I think having an extra percent or two efficiency would make a larger impact than having 5 extra CFM.

Sean, by anti volvo t5r owner, do you mean Doug? And if so, what made him anti vs in the first place?

No he means, that 355 hp T5 R guys doesn't like the attitude of some VS miss know it all members that's all. Me and Jon are supposd to catch him tonite  , this car is no joke. Apparently whatever he did is working, by the way my super60T according to the charts flows a tad bit less than 19T's but once ported "not recomended" you can get over 340 with proper tuning. by the way he doesnt have a GT series turbo, maybe a big 16G "my next project"

do we know how much more power the glt cams get us?

Depends entirely on your other modifications and how well you can tune the things. I got 12 more hp outta mine by messing w/ timing on the dyno.... could be b/c they were not at optimal settings before. I've still got some more work to do w/ them.

Neither 18 or 19T will get you a real 350 wheel. TD04...

You must be talking about Danny, and I am pretty sure he as either a gt35 or a 3040...

Your right about the car though, it's no joke, that 355fwhp is a untuned 355, imagine what he'll put down when it's tuned :o

Yeah neither'll push over 400hp at the crank, and w/ the auto u need a lot more than that. A big deal on putting down 350fwhp would be the tranny, the auto loses so much. Plus the rods would need to be redone if they're gonna last.

take the same basic approach you did to the bike. exhaust, pistons (and rods), etc. just add bigger stuff to it all. and this topic was brought up the other day, you may be able to still find it if you search.

well that is the ticket then just boost the crap out of your 15g , you really dont need a bigger turbo.. build up your lower end and it can handle a lot of hp...

I would say 350 crank is about the absolute maximum for 18 or 19T.
