gaterp
Top gear Volvo S60R - 1.35.0Ferrari 575 - 1.35.2Alfa 147 GTA - 1.35.6Lotus Elise - 1.35.6Aston Martin Vanquish -1.36.2Also M3 was BMW M3 - 1.31.8I'm just saying I got my 2004 R for 25k with 26k miles on it. Over at the other forum they are running 1/2 second faster 0-60 and in the low 13's with the BSR chip. I think that is a pretty good deal for $800. I also have two child seats in the back(family car) and could maybe still beat a Aston Martin Vanquish. Just my thoughts.

Just my thoughts. An S60R with just a chip upgrade would need a trebuchet to make a low 13 second quarter mile pass. And as far as beating a Vanquish, 0-60 comes in 5 seconds, and they can do 190mph. If I were planning on taking on a Vanquish in an S60R, I think I'd forget BSR and start looking for some blueprints, some logs, and maybe that german guy from the VW commercials. Jaxx
Lotus and TVRs are elephants clad in lead vests and concrete trousers compared to the Ariel Atom. I cant think of a production car that weighs less. Not even the Caterahm (sp?) weighs less than the atom. i'd like to see you drive that in the rain... the sad thing is that the Enzo is still faster. but i wouldn't pay 700 for an oil change. ViperVettte
uhhh, You see, a S60R can easily have a faster 0-60 then the Vanquish. However... it does have boatloads of power, giving it a high top-speed(190 mph). At those higher speeds, the drag maters and not the weight. The S60R is deffinaltey more nible then the Vanquish, and I would venture a guess that with equal drivers, that the S60R would come close if not beat the Vanquish around a track. Given a Chip and exhaust, I would almost bet on it. As for the ferrari... games over for the S60R. Had to be a wet track.speaking of the Aerial... this is funnyhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fpfv8FsNQo&search=Top%20Gear
Benjam83
As i recall, they mentioned that the day they tested the Vanquish, was the wettest the track had ever been for the timed test lap. As evidence of this, go back to the website and check out the time for the Astin DB9. I love the S60R, but I would have to say that the Vanquish would still take it. I cant really base this on anything as I haven't driven either....sooooo....Whatever. But looking at the DB9, which I don't know....I think it has a little less power....but it has a regular gear box, not paddle shift. But still ran a pretty good time. If I'm wrong about power or whatever about the DB9 someone correct me. Not an Astin officianado.
RvolvoR
In that case, you forgot TVR. I'd take a TVR over a Lotus any day.id have to say, id take the Caterham R500 Superlight over either of those any day
