skadet
hello,my 02 s60 2.4 T has just informed me that its "time for regular service". its at 57,4xx miles, and the manual doesn't indicate any service required at this point. Is it ok to just turn off the message?Additionally, I just noticed that the lights on the underside of the rear view mirrors (puddle lamps) do not illuminate when I press the yellow button anymore. I would say a burnt bulb, but they're BOTH out. What's the word? Thanks,

connorb850
The service message will always come on 7,500 miles after it was last reset, it has nothing to do with the mileage on the odometer. Somehow you must have gotten out of sequence of the servicing? maybe that message was not reset at the 52,500 mile service? Seeing that your car is an 02, it will have to be hooked up to VADIS at the dealer to be reset.

MadeInJapan
I beg to differ. Try this:MY 2002+The service reminder indicator (SRI) informs the driver that it is time for the car to be serviced. The text message is displayed for 120 seconds each time the ignition is switched on.Proceed as follows to reset the service reminder indicator (SRI):-Ignition position I-Press and hold in the reset button for the trip odometer-Ignition position II.Note! Turn the key to position II within 2 seconds.-Hold the reset button for the trip meter pressed in until the original value has been reset.Note! For all vehicles from the 2003 model year a general yellow lamp will light when the reset button must be released.-Release the reset button for the trip odometer within 4 seconds. The instrument gives an audible signal when resetting has succeeded-If the trip meter is already reset the reset button should be held in for a minimum of 10 seconds and a maximum of 14 seconds.Note! If the reset button for the trip odometer is not released within 4 seconds, the service reminder indicator (SRI) is not reset.
Oreo931
as for the lights, it could be the bulbs, it could be a fuse...check them both, and if you dont want to, have ur mechanic check em the next time u bring the car in...if hes nice he should do it for free
Fisher
Skadet,The "time for regular service" light is telling you that the oil needs changing. I did not see it mentioned above so I thought I would mention it. Just resetting it does not address the reason it came on in the first place.
