740 Tank
Howdy all-I haven't posted in a while, but I've come up with a few questions here lately on my S70, and the first/foremost is this:It's definitely time for a front brake service, and I've done digging through all the forums here searching like crazy, and before I sink any money in, I'd like some quick suggestions... From my measurements, I've still got stock 280mm rotors in the front with 302's in the rear. I remember doing some research in the past and running into some walls with BBK's since I have 16" Helium wheels. What's the largest reasonable upgrade I can make without changing wheels or calipers? Can I fit 302's without trouble? If so, does anyone have reccomendations on a good brand/model of rotor (I think slotted/drilled will fit my application- "ocassional spirited but not *intense* driving") and where I can find a good price? I can hunt prices on my own, I only ask because I know many of you have places I'm sure you prefer to shop online for Volvo stuff...And of course... I see all kinds of opinions on pads ranging from EBC Greenstuff, Mintex Red, Porterfield R4S, etc. I don't really care about the cleanliness of the pad, just reliability and reasonable endurance... I don't know if it's reasonable to still expect 2 sets of pads to 1 set of rotors when non-stock, so if it'd be possible to shoot for a 1:1 ratio, I'd definitely be down with that.I'm totally open to kit suggestions, if an IPD (or other's) kit would suit my needs and be cost effective, let me know- But I'd definitely still like to go up to slotted/drilled 302's if possible. So in summation, I need to know:1. Can I go from 280mm rotors to 302mm rotors on the front of a 2000 S70 with 16" Heliums?2. What reliable (less warp-prone than stock Volvo) rotors would you suggest in either 280 or 302?3. What pads would you suggest for said rotors?4. Any suggestions on where to pick up said rotors/pads at a good price? (I am in Atlanta, so if any of the ATL guys have brick n' mortar reccomendationss, speak up!)Any/all input appreciated. I'd again like to stress that I *have* done some digging in the forums, but I couldn't quite confidently get everything I was after so I figured it was better to ask... even if I just get pointed to posts I may have missed! -Robert-
