Owned,

A couple of experiences. One of my good friends is about to finish up his FF Cobra, getting the paint done as I type. Car's fast, actually really fast, and he had a blast building it. Really what it comes down to is how much you can get the Mustang (parts) for and how much of your own sweet you put into the build. He's pretty much running the stock mustang 5.0 with straight through exhuast and FF headers and the car really moves. I can't even begin to imagine what some of the SC'd or Ford crate engines will do in the FF Cobra.

You also might want to see if you can get in contact with nkennedy from this forum. He just finished up his FF coupe a couple of month's ago. Unfortunately I can't seem to find his website url, he has a ton of pics posted of the build.

Thanks for the good tips! :)

I was planning on doing almost everything myself (plus any friends that want to lend a hand), including paint, as I'm lucky enough to have a decent setup at my disposal. The only thing I'm not very comfortable doing is welding. From what FFR told me, there is very little required.'

About how long did your friend's Cobra build take?

The Cobras are very nice. I'm going with their GTM, though. :)

It's taken my buddy, his dad, and brother about a year and a half to get the car put together. It wouldn't have taken as long except they have taken their time with it. About the paint, it's my understanding that the doors on the cobras can be hard to align and usually someone with body repair experience is needed to do that. The paint can be a little tricky too. But since you're looking at the GTM I'm not too sure about the paint and doors.

Good luck with it.
