mikie
So engine lights on again, PO172 (Mass air metering system...), and PO1003( running too rich bank 1). Same numbers like before if I recall. Seems like it's my MAF right? So I was wondering once a new maf (which should be free cause I believe I have a year warrenty) is installed does volvo have to download any softwear??? Basically can I just get the parts, install them myself and then just erase the codes right? Thanks

They told me just to be sure to unhook the battery for about 15 minutes to allow the ETM to reset with the new MAF.

turbomolar
Does unhooking the battery for 15 mins effect an IPD flashed chip?DOes disconnecting the battery do the same thing as resetting the CEL with an OBDII scanner?

mikie
NO.Just take out the ECU for 15 minutes. But for someone with an OBDII scanner, no need to remove the ECU or battery for 15 minutes right?
