Asinine
We looped the chain as low to 'in line' as we could.I've been wd-40'ing it and wacking it with a hammer for a long time and today we wasted half a bottle and used an axe.My friend did give me some penetrating lubricant or something, and i'll give it a shot, but it's so hard to apply considering where the hitch is and that other thing... oh, yeah, gravity!?I blame the driver of the car, the American owned corporation he worked for put his priorities on his job not his family or care of their vehicles! Summary point is... if you have a hitch, remove the ball part!!!
bloc
pb blaster will work a lot better than WD-40. has some kind of acid in it that literally eats rust away. couple bux at the auto parts store.this all reminds me. last time i tried to install the hitch it didnt want to go in all the way, and it isnt really very usefull like that. guess i need to fix that. Ivanfbi
I blame Canada tooI would jack up the car and use torch to heat it up, and then pull, it has to come out, if you unbolted everything and it is not bent or anything,.
BtownVolvo
i'm still not too stressed.. i need the hitch in the next 3 weeks to launch a boat and do some hauling at my buddies cottage!Watch it totally fly off when you launch the boat The ultimate ironic
Asinine
Watch it totally fly off when you launch the boat The ultimate ironicI'd be fine with that.. i'm only worried about towing the boat to the launch... if it falls out then, that could get dicey!? NoodleKnight
You may just break something else instead of that towing hitch, lol.You need to put a lot of force on the thing (shock load), like, get a running start with the car. If it were my case i'd soak it in pb blaster then try and tap it out with one of those dent puller contraptions (its basically a metal pole with a heavy weight that you can slide and hit against the metal base). Basically I think you want to get the same effect as hammering it out, except you probably don't want to be swinging a hammer that close to your car.
