1998 S70 Glt Running 13's

I was told to sign up here by someone named 98S70R Kevin from Seattle on Cardomain.com.

I own a 1998 Volvo S70 GLT.

Which runs high 13's in a quarter mile.

I was told that it was not possible because people on this form know everything about these cars. It is not possible for a GLT to run 13's. I should post here so people laugh at my lies.

I have a 1998 V70R ECU. - $300 Erie Volvo

I have a 1998 C70 HPT Turbocharger. - $300 Erie Volvo

I have a bored out throttle body. - (Too Much) Eastern Aerospace

I have my boost topping out at 13 PSI. - Shady wastegate adjustments (Which have not blown up my car yet in over 70,000 miles because of the 93+ octane gas and the R ECU)

The car has a B5254T engine in it. Do the math higher displacement engine than a T5. More flow into the cylinders than a T5. More exhaust flow due to higher displacement engine (Not much but more). Anyway if Kevin did his research he would know that Volvo actually uses the B5254T engine in the S60R with a KKK turbo.

GLT is a slower car out of the box at 190HP & 199 FT/LBS of torque but has a greater potenital for more power. It is also prone to more damage due to the cylinders being larger and not decipating heat as well at the T5 engines. But I guess I dont know what I am talking about.

Oh yeah by the way besides tuning Volvo's which i have been doing for some time starting with my 740, my S70, and my S80 I am a Master Technician for Volvo in Florida.

Anyway These cars are great cars and have alot more potential than people could imagine.

Oh yeah go on Cardomain.com to see my car.

Saw the time slip on the Cardomain site. Sounds like you know what your talking about, but those mods don't sound like high 13's. Anyway nice to have you on VS.

Sorry but I actually do not have a slip that has me in the 13.93 category.

I am getting heat for posting my 14.008 slip @ 97.60MPH. Not good enough to call it 13's.

Actually I could have ran 13.90 all day long at the track but since you need a head gear in the 13's.

I would have wasted my $20 the first run and they would not let me run untill i had head gear on.

sweet.

launch is key, just as josh said.

post the 14..008 and look at his 60' times. probably low as.... your mother?

A stock ECU is still going to have "traction control" (boost limiter) on in 1st and 2nd gear.

High 13's would not be possible in a 240 BHP car these cars weigh about 3200 to 3350 alone without the driver. Whith 240 bhp you might loose 10% to 15% powertrain loss. You get about 204 to 216 hp at the wheels.

Front wheel drive cars are easy to lounch once you find the spot they stop to spin tires at. At the track I was able to lunch the car at 2000 RPM, 2200 RPM, and after 2500 RPM it would brake tires loose. Very sticky track, launch at 2500RPM and you get a very good run in.

On the steet I dont need to lunch the car at all it spins tires all day long from a stop on acceleration.

Quarter mile means nothing really. I play with cars all day in a straight line M3, Mustangs, Camaros, whatever.

My car being an automatic never mis shifts all these guys got as an excuse is I miss shifted, I did this, I did that.

Well actually what you have a hard time admiting is that a 4 door family sedan just beat you.

... he is THAT guy. Way to go KEV! Welcome to the boards man, you should fill out your location and Signiture so that people will warm up to you quicker. Good to FINALLY have someone who knows how important launch is.
