va850guy
Snice when does EST have a 3" exhaust kit? Every exhaust I see listed is 2.5"Precisely my mistake...happens when you don't do all your research but believe me, this is definitely 3 inches and tips are 3 1/2. The site does not specify and unfortunately I didn't ask (Link to EST page)

EST, or you?So the exhaust is definitely a full 3" cat back, correct?

Definitely a full 3" cat back. How loud would you say it is? With 3 mufflers I would say it can't be that bad...People with the EST 2.5" report that it drones on the highway. How does your 3" dual system compare?don't laugh...if I can find something a little less "badass" those puppies are coming off!Why not just tone it down with smaller tips? EST, or you?So the exhaust is definitely a full 3" cat back, correct? The dual system you show on your link is a 2.5" in dia and they no longer offer the system with the dual mufflers. I have received that informaton from EST. By the way I have ordered that setup for 98 C70.

With 3 mufflers I would say it can't be that bad...People with the EST 2.5" report that it drones on the highway. How does your 3" dual system compare? Why not just tone it down with smaller tips?Sounds pretty good actually, especially with WOT. Cruising down the road it does drone a bit. It's the appearance that's just not floating my boat - way to much hardware showing down there and hanging too low. Even with the tips angled upwards from the muffler (not a good look imo) there's quite a gap between the tips and the bumper cutouts. It would have looked better if the tips come straight (level) out of the muffler and were somewhat flush with the cutouts, like this guy's setup: pic1, pic2.I am toying with the idea of smaller tips (these are 4" tips by the way) but that would make the gap between tips and bumper even more pronounced. Hmm, wonder if a custom shop could tweak the setup for me?
mAydAy
Paint the exhaust its self black with high temp ceramic paint or grille paint and replace the tips, then it can look very low key.
Texas850Turbo
Yeah man keep that exhaust- it's really unique and awesome!Take it to an exhaust shop and have 'em put on tips to your liking and/or modify muffler location.
WhiteT5
Just to clarify. EST was selling the 3" dual outlet JT Avgasteknik cat-back for a period of time. They quit selling it b/c it's not really a bolt on and requires a bit of modification. That system included 3 mufflers and is reportedly even quieter than the IPD cat-back.The dual outlet kit EST now sells is 2.5" aluminized piping, and is supposed to fit better, but only has one muffler so it will be louder versus their single outlet systems.IMO, that dual outlet w/ upward angle is HOT. I'd roll with it.
Jacob
Take it to an exhaust shop and have 'em put on tips to your liking and/or modify muffler location.+1 it would be like $30 or $40 to have them cut the tips off and weld on smaller, straight tips. If it bothers you that much, just do that. You don't want to ditch your system. I would say 75%+ of the people on here that don't have 3" cat backs wish they did. Yours is even cooler because its duel. I say keep it!
ViperVette
I too shall have a dual exhaust soon.... Now that thats done with, I think it looks sweet man. And that red car with the dual outlet is a 850, just a quick FYI as per how much modding is going on there. And yes, the JT system is pretty sick, I would suggest NOT selling it... to anyone other then me.
