Hilton
I've been itching to buy the Samco hoses, but couldn't justify the cost to replace hoses that were perfectly fine. Coming home from work Thursday the T hose that is connected to the throttle body came apart. The small hose that fits inside the larger hose came out. I pushed it back in and that fixed the problem for about 16 seconds. I finally made it home and as a temporary fix cut an 11/16th inch deep well socket in half. I stuck the end that doesn't have the rachet connection in the inner piece of the small hose, stuck that hose in the T hose and clamped it down. Problem temporarily solved! Then I hit the search button. I called Jeremy at NineSecondRacing.com He added the blue Samco kit to their webpage by the way. I'll have new blue Samco hoses May 7th!$181 after shipping.Oh, and I bought new shoes for the toy.
PullMyFinger
Thats a good use for that 11/16th socket I finally just took almost all of my SAE stuff out of my main box. No point in the extra dead weight Creative patch there, MacGyver

Zappo
You know, that socket is good for a few hundred psi, and absolutely no pressure flex! Nice upgrade. :)
BeachRat
You know, that socket is good for a few hundred psi, and absolutely no pressure flex! Nice upgrade. makes one wonder if it is possible to replace much of the turbo pipes with hardened steel from formerly useless SAE sockets! Very nice patch, and use of the "Search!" Zappo
makes one wonder if it is possible to replace much of the turbo pipes with hardened steel from formerly useless SAE sockets! It is good to see that people still think outside the box. It really sounds like a fix I would do. I have had my share of ghetto fixes in the past, but none really on the Volvo yet.
Hilton
thanks guys. MacGyver would have been able to fix it on the side of the road with chewing gum, a quarter, some electrical wire and his pocket knife. At least I had the benefit of a grinder. 850turbo
So now your volvo is 99.9% metric, and 0.01% SAE
Hilton
So now your volvo is 99.9% metric, and 0.01% SAE Best thing I've read in a long time!Okay, I got the hoses today. I installed them in about an hour. They are so blue and so pretty! No real seat of the pants difference, but I'm sure it's there. I'm thinking of raising the boost from 12 to 14 with the mbc. Keep in mind this is a 97 GLT that I put a ported 15G in.
