AReed67
2001 S60 2.4TI hadn't noticed because of the location, but it seems that the previous owner blew the driver's side rear door speaker. The rear deck speakers are fine, as well as the fronts.I'm not looking to upgrade the system yet, just need a close-to-stock replacement. Can anyone tell me what size and type this door speaker might be?Unfortunately Crutchfield.com does not have info on my car, so they can't suggest any specific products.Thanksedit: for clarification, this is in the backseat, driver's side door. 01S6024T
Here is S60 speaker info: (from various car sites)Front doors: two 8" bass, two 3" mid range, & two 1" treble. One of each left and one right, obviously.Rear doors: two 6.5" bass/mid range (note: I have read 8" mid/bass on other sites, I think it varies by model year.)Hatshelf: Two 8" bass/mid range & two 1" treble. (note: these are well known to be 8 ohm impedance, as are the rear doors. In parallel for a 4 ohm load on the factory four channel amps)Instrument panel: one 6.2" coaxial center speaker if you have the HU-803 Premium Sound System (4x2" in combination with RTI) I have taken off my hatshelf. they are 8" components with a bracket that effectively puts the tweeter in a coaxial position. The factory braket the 8's are mounted on has "pre drilled / untapped" mounting hardware holes that will accept aftermarket speakers. It looks as if the tweeter bracket is reusable. As are the caps used for frequency filtering / passive crossover. For aftermarket 8" other than subwoofers checkout Dynaudio I hope this helps.
