Matts 850 GLT
HiWell finally at 186,000 miles my car spat out its timing belt, possible due to a seized water pump. I won't even try to fix it or work out why it happenned. By the time I sourse an engine get it shipped and get the car towed to a shop for motor swap, I can cut my loss and get a 95 or 96 wagon. So, I am looking at 96 models non-turbo. I see a lot for sale with 'ABS light on' - So what I want to know is how much can I kick a price down? What is involved to fix the ABS, and how much?ThanksMattRIP 93 GLT. jda2000
some brave souls have fixed the ABS module on their own by opening the case and finding the bad broken soldered area and resoldering .If you're brave, you might try the fix yourself. :D

tmark
A number of the folks use Vic Roca (hope I didn't mis spell the name) to repair the ABS unit. You will have to send him your unit and he can get it back to you shortly. However, since you are in the UK, I'm not sure about customs and all that business. Check with him and see what it takes. Like the Cornwall area. I had three assignments to the UK and lived in the Cambridgeshire area. Cheers,

All conformal coated and surface mounted, i didn't see any cracks in the solder. i guess that's why people charge to get them fixed other wise every one would fix it.
