SkyWriter
i have two complete grills for the front but only one had a center emblem. i don't know of the physcial dimensioning of this componenent but the one i go have if typically sandblaster look. i'll be plastidiping the rest of the grill in black; which looks nice but either eitheer:1) the slash remains stock with the old emblem2) the slash gets painted as well and a new emblem is fabricated3) blashing whole thing old but looks like a lazy solution.the reason the slash can't be completely removed is it's countersunk and leaves a divot out of even fin of the original grill. any reasonable ideas? (not very good at spraybombs).thanks!Sky

SkyWriter
I say go with this...it looks pretty good on other peoples cars...maybe you could paint everything but the emblem?....do you know how to use pshop?yes but mine is old sandblastered and faded. i could either pop for a brandy new one (one didn't come on my new chrome grill) or build something - but i may never get around to that. then again i bought some perferated grill material but first i would have to take the roll out of it, then find a way to terminate the edges, then convince myself is doesn't look ugly (not that other peoples don't look good, i just got lousy material; bad luck). i think i could ground off the slash mounts with a dremel tool then plasitidip the whole thing. luckily my plate registration doesn't require a fom plate so i can leave it "free in the breeze" i tried photoshopping, but it's hard work when your kid if flipping out net to you about all the math home work he can't do. i jut use my "....imagination..." i wish there was an eggcrate version someone sold, but nobody does. might just do the quick black grill then plan a body job later. SkyWriter
figures, everyone has criticism, nobody wants to share ideas. i'll use my favorite - kanji symbol for strength cut in plate copper, black background and potted in lucite/transparent material.thanks anyway Oreo931 btw i liked your VOLVO grill.Sky

SkyWriter
another obvious one would be the IPD "R" knockoff emblem. it sits perfecty; on black, or better yet a swedish flag, it would be easy and hard to beat.

Oreo931
I meant i hope you arent using the "Kanji for strength, power, etc" symbol instead of the volvo logo in the center of the grille. It was a joke, unfortunately you didnt get it :(
SkyWriter
I meant i hope you arent using the "Kanji for strength, power, etc" symbol instead of the volvo logo in the center of the grille. It was a joke, unfortunately you didnt get it i may use it, i respect Asian culture. i would like to get something different. i'm looking for a part number for the original part; but they are not sold seperately ASAIK. i may cut the volvosymsol from copper and use the same black or swedish flag background potted in lucite all on a chrome sash with a black grill. i would like to hear good sugestions. to me they both exemplify the same characeristics. but i've heard to much rubbish here lately to even consider the input from a vast majority of people. but i do respect some peoples input yours amoung others. for me; i live with it, for others it's an opportunity for senseless bashing with no repercussions. Zulu
You guys could go on AIM and talk more effectively since no one else is chiming in. Do the swedish flag, not the kanji.
