Stormin Norman
If you can hear ignition whine coming thru the speaker then the speaker and the electrical connection to the speaker is intact, it is getting a feed from the amp. You just don't like the feed. If you have an outboard amp, check the input connection, which is maybe open, hence the audible interference from the engine. Try flopping the amp inputs and see if the problem moves to the other side. If it does, problem is likely in your head unit. If not, either the cable from the HU is bad or it's the HU. Stormin Norman
Ooops. If it duzn't move when you flop the amp input, then flop the speaker wires. If it moves, the amp could be bad.If you don't have an amp, HU is likely bad.
