anyone acutally have expeience outfiting a turbocharged volvo car with a suplementary supercharger of any boost. keyword is experience. also looking for liturature on either subject. SC maybe be in series or parallel or gated in and out depending on PRM, or engine load etc... what could be sensed?

I personally don't have experience but one of my neighbors has a SC - Turbo miata...it's fast as monkey but he wouldn't recommend the setup. Parasytic SC with a supplementary machine being a turbo..

a natural problem is finding space on the serpentine belt and a suitible tesionor pully location. but beyond that what else woudl one expect this confgiuration to do that just N20 and a turbo could not (let's forget ecomony for a loooooong while :) )

in retrospect i would have prefered an S60R blac,k and the money is spent on the S80. i shall put money down on a parts car and do anything necessary to get it to work. if it'd physically possible i'll do it... im nearly becoming incomprehensible for the eveing don't let it slow you down :)

I saw it done on a drifting trueno in Japan while I was over there, but even the owner of such a cheap ride said it was a nightmare to get the configuration right even on a proven setup that probably had years of engineering behind it.

any details what the set up could be? there are a lot of diferent types of configurations such as one where you have a smalll turbo to spool up fast, then cut into a larger turbo after the large turbo lag is gone for upper RPM power. so technically is was just a dual turbp setup. so many different way to do it, so many ways to fail.

I believe the 84-88(?) 911 Turbos used one of those setups where all the exhaust went through one turbo to spool it, then at a certain RPM it would switch exhaust flow to 2 turbos for more overall boost, and so on. I have a diagram somewhere, it's a pretty neat design.

Also I would try to find info on that new VW engine that's coming out sometime. It's SCed and turbocharged, with like 25 psi in a 1.8l engine. Something crazy.

No specifics, but I do know that a lot of ppl who have owned twin turbo cars have switched to large single turbo's for big power and simplicity of tuning. Twin turbo is a complicated thing, but if done right it can rule over the entire rpm range. I thought we were speaking of using a sc...twincharging, No offense, but this isn't the board to be crashing to find these kind of answers, cause noone here has done it, you should Google that topic, and issues like that can be found rehashed in old issues of magazines. You have to get a good roots type supercharger, then just find a way to bolt it on and run the pipes...no problem right? Well, the supercharger will limit top end power because of the drag on the sc belts at high rpm. So theres always a compromise. I think Volvo has a twin charging system where it uses an intake diverter valve or clutch system activated pulley or something. Its not used on any production volvo yet that Im aware of. Unless you just want to be innovative and different just use nitrous, itll cost a lot less than a dual compressor setup.
