connorb850 Posted April 30, 2006 Report Share Posted April 30, 2006 To prepare for the Virginia Beach meet that was earlier today, Erik (erk1983) asked me to detail his car for him…so I worked on it Thursday night. This car belonged to Kash (R4Life) before Erik bought it last year. Anyway, the car is in pretty good shape but it definitely needed a good detailing. It had some pretty heavy swirls and oxidation, especially on the hood, roof, and trunk and the paint was just dull in general. Heres some pics of before and after the detail….. connorb850 Posted April 30, 2006 Author Report Share Posted April 30, 2006 Thanks guys The process was:-Remove the rest of the pinstripe (on the right side)-Wash-Polish with 1Z Einszett Paint Polish (medium cut)-Polish with 1Z Einszett Metallic Polish (light cut)-Wax with Collinite #845 Liquid Insulator Wax -Wolfgang Black Diamond on tires-303 Aerospace Protectant on trimAll this was done with the Porter Cable orbital buffer, I was able to get about 90-95% of the swirls out and pretty much all of the oxidation Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
