Jesus
Kelvin made me this...which allowed me to do this...On the left is an MTX Blue Thunder 75x2 and on the right is a Volvo/Alpine 100x4. Sub is a Diamond D1. HU is an SC-901Think I might pull out the rear shelve speakers and find new components for the front speakers. Currently rolling around with the pass-through open between the cabin and trunk.

crazykn
And who would guess that is completely driven off the stock HU .... stealthy.Ironically all of my customers have built better systems than one that is actually in my car!Love the amp rack by the way ! Figawi
anyway you could make an adapter like that which had two sets of RCA outputs plus a female connector to plug my OEM am in as well??

Ivanfbi
Its gonna be sad, when the HU will break..nonono.....it WILL break
Jesus
If it breaks, I can use the existing set-up with an aftermarket HU, so no worries there. And this particular SC-901 is relatively new... 2004 I believe.I think I found the three differences between those two photos
Greenchunks
Jesus, you running that 4 channel amp for the stock speakers I presume? How much of an improvement did it make with the stock speakers? Also, is it powering the 8" woofers in the rear deck, or did you disconnect those when you added the sub? Jesus
The stock speakers sound ok, I guess. Definitely not as good as the home set-up, but not bad enough to warrant the outlay of further fundage. Highs are pretty shrilly and the mids are lacking some oomph, but plays quite loud with the new amp. Still fiddling with the hidden EQ in the HU.The shelf speakers are still hooked up, but I think I might try disconnecting them, just to see what difference it makes. Jesus
by the way, the EQ preset for the S70 boosts highs and lows way too much. One of the first things I did was switch to a custom eq curve.
Greenchunks
but adding an amp to the factory speakers defintely helped?
crazykn
Hey Noah, you're welcome to come on over and listen to my system. I have it setup so that I bypass the amp when I want to compare the stock sound or stock w/ 4 channel amp sound.
