He was a master tech at a Volvo dealership I worked at when I was in college. I used to hang out with him when the sales department was slow.edit: Someone asked if I was thinking about selling, I would say I would consider it, Travis pm'd me earlier today asking the same question, "for s & g's" I really want a manual transmission. Stamperman Posted May 10, 2006 Report Share Posted May 10, 2006 Saturday I am changing the Rear main seal on my car (I am not doing it but a Volvo Tech I know is) is there anything else that I should have done while this is being done, I know the flame trap would be done if it was an N/A. Car is pretty solid and the RMS leak is very minor but want to take care of it before it effeects any O2 sensors.It's a very oppurtune time (while the subframe is hanging there) to change the front and rear hydraulic motor mounts. Like others have said, input shaft seal on the trans, halfshaft seals. I pulled the motor and trans out of top when I did mine, so I replaced the timing belt, turbo oil line gaskets and vacuum lines while it was out. I didn't know any mechanic worked for $20/hr anymore. my cleaning lady is $75/hr .a dealer quoted me $1150 w/ $250 in parts alone and an indy quoted me $750 including parts, but now that i know there is a better deal out there, i will keep searching.
