You sure about that, i didn't think the 900/901 had changer inputs, because it has the 3disc built-in?

Yes, They do indeed support an optional 6 disc changer. Most cars even have the cable preinstalled.

You may have already answered this but I'm still a little nervous. I have a 2000 C70, same radio. I've wired the ipod to inside the glovebox -- but I have not yet spliced into any wires for the auxillary power. Where EXACTLY did you pull that from? I tried using a wire (I think it was yellow) from a previous XM Radio installation but I believe it was always hot. The ipod would pause whenever I opened a window too which wasn't a good thing either. Any help on this last hook up is appreciated. I just don't want to fry my car -- or ipod -- or blitzsafe.

Thanks!

You have a SC816, or a SC900/901? If you go to the dealership and ask them nicely, they should be able to tell you which wire on the harness is the power one, they did for me. Just go in there explain what youre tring to do, and ask if they know which one it is, they can always check the manual's they have around too to help ya.

I'm new to the forum -- looking for an ipod solution for a 96 850 wagon. It looks like I wanna run the blitzsafe Vol /M-Link -- and I've read this thread thru to the end of this chain of posts and replies.

I have two quick neophyte questions, though: Is it really just plug n play (as LogJam says -- I've seen notes here about hot wires and power weirdness -- think those weren't 850 issues, though) . Then one more question: Does anyone have really simple install instructions, including stereo-removal information?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Andy

What I do with the blitzsafe is turn the ipod volume up all the way and just control the volume through the head unit. That way seems to work the best. The pause on the SC-816 will still stop the sound from coming through the speakers, but the ipod will still be playing unless you manually pause it.

But yeah, I definately recommend the blitzsafe. The sound quality is great and its really nice being able to charge the ipod without having to use the cig. lighter socket.

Okay: I confess to being perplexed. I bought the Blitzsafe M-Link-1 (here: http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/stor...MLINK1_V1.html) and installed it. Plugged the audio cable in via the CD changer input (that 6-8 pin round black plug). Then we tapped into a 12-volt hot wire (yellow in the non-speaker cluster of cables).

I get the correct reading on the stereo screen when pressing "CD-Changer" ... And it'll play the iPod's songs.

BUT I also get a hideous hiss over the music and anytime the music isn't playing. Indeed if I unplug the iPod-pins connector, and then the cable is hanging, it still hisses crazy-like. I can sorta wave the cable around and get more hiss. The hiss increases with volume and seems to originate in the iPod pin connector on the Blitzsafe cable.

All I've read here is super-positive about the Blitzsafe, but my sound isn't good.

Any ideas?

I spliced into the yellow and brown wire (power) and the green and brown (acc) hope that helps. a volt meter will tell you straight away. My deck is an sc-901. BTW, I got IPD's set up for $125 with the 20% discount they were offering a couple weeks back. Solves everyones questions with their instructional dvd.

I purchased the Harman Kardon Drive and Play adaptor for my '95 850, and the install was pretty easy. My question is, do one of these adaptors work from my HK unit to the CD changer plug on the back of my factory HU? I have it installed with a wired FM transmitter now but the sound is not great in some urban areas.

Thanks for any help!
