Greenchunks
Ok, so I got my blitzsafe today and hooked it all up here's the lowdown for you who want to feel safe having a walkthrough.First, push in those two little tabs on the side of the HU so the pop out and then slide the deck out and disconnect everything. I think you can figure that out with no pictures. Next you take a t-tap (or tap in squeeze connector) put the yellow wire from the blitzsafe in one end, and put the t-tap around the green/brown wire on the larger of the two connector and squeeze it together, it should look like so:Here is another picture of exactly which green/brown wire it is:After that you plug the mini din connector into the back of the deck, and the mini din to ipod cable to the other mini din on the blitzsafe (you can't mess it up one is male, one is female)I decided to run the wire for the dock connector out and by the coin holder/ash tray so the ipod will jsut chill there. To do that, you need to remove these two torx screws (I believe it was a T-25):You will have this open area now from there you have plenty of access to that area, so run the cable down there:To make it completely flush, I decided to shave off a tiny bit with a file so the cable sat flush like so:Then I put the ash tray back in reconnected everything on the deck, and put it back in. Be sure that you have the code for the stereo to turn it back on, the dealership can give you the code, I pulled my deck there to be sure it was the right number then just drove home. Final product is the cable chillin like so: Works great, no problems, charges the ipod. Only problem is that it is a bit of a pain to have the ipod down there as the cable kinda gets in the way and bunches up. I think I might redo it later and run the cable through the center console and come out in the armrest, it should be long enough for that I think. Figawi
would the green/brown wire be the same on the 850s?
BtownVolvo
I would have run it up to the center console armrest and have it in there IMHO...Looks good Noah!
Greenchunks
would the green/brown wire be the same on the 850s?I cant say for sure, Kelvin (crazykn) said it was a different one on his 850, ask him which it was. As per location, I have it sitting under the ebrake in the little indentation right now, fits perfectly, and doesnt go anywhere, plus easy to skip tracks and pull in and out. Guest S7013g
The yellow 12 volt source, what did you do with the bare end that is showing some silver metal? Just use electrical tape to tape it up or use like a end cap of some kind?

I showed a picture of it too.

Greenchunks
update: I got the little headphone connector thingy that you can play/pause and skip tracks with mounted up and left of the headunit, just below the climate control. works nicely, might move the ipod into the armrest now.
