8G5L0T
Im going to block out my grill today. Should I stay away from spray paint ? If so, i can pick up any black paint from my local hardware store and be set right? Did any of you guys use a primer on your grill?
JMK33
Plastidip You might want to lightly sand it so the paint holds on better. I'd stay away from spray paint though , because it has a better chance of chipping.

Jaxx
Spray is good, as long as you follow directions.Depending on the finish you want, if you want to make it look like theres nothign there, get flat black. if you want it be shiny, get satin, gloss or high gloss, maybe even clear coat.you can pick up any black spray paint, but make sure its just not indoor only. any outdoor paint will work well, I've heard Krylon Fusion is good.make sure you sand lightly, shake the cans well, make sure its above 60 degrees or so, if you want, you can put the cans in warm water to let the paint stick better and be less runny.when painting, be sure to do lots of light coats, waiting at least 15 minutes inbetween. This will help runs, chipping, and finish.things to remember: prep is 80% of the job, prep well, most likely you'll have a good paint job that you'll be proud of. mask off what you want, be sure to do it in a well lit area, and well ventilated, dust masks don't block fumes. have anymore questions? ask! it'll turn out better! good luck,-jaxx

volvogeek
I did the same thing to my 855R earlier this week...how did you get the clips off the slash? It looked to me like they'd snap the mounts off if I tried, so I just taped over it.Now I need to get some trim black and black that out too...
