AGBullit235
Question for the California residents. A week ago I was in San Francisco visiting and I parked on the street. I have Maine paltes right now (getting Cal plates as soon as I have money for the registration). The meter was paid and I came back with a ticket on my windshield. They gave me a ticket for no front plate. I have a new V70R bumper with no bracket on the front (no holes either). I used to have a plate in my windshield but I figured since half of the people on the road in SoCal have no front plate that it wasn't an issue having no front plate. Again, I have out of state plates.Soo the ticket is $100 and I live in SoCal. Ticket states "No plates." I have a rear plate obviously, and the ticket has my plate number and the correct state.Any advice? Thanks guys!-Alex
EvilBrick
Go to court, as long as ME dosent require a front plate your good. Otherwise go to court anyway, who knows maybe CA can let you off because your car in NOT REGISTERED IN CALIFORNIA.

855R
I got pulled over one day 4 times for no front plate by different officers. I would pull out my fix-it ticket from the first cop and say "I KNOW!" the next day I put it on, cleared the ticket then went home an rolled it to the bumper. Now you can only see the top half but F-ck them I've never been pulled over for it since, after all my plate is on.
Nebor
Just take off all your plates. Then they can't write any more tickets.
Serge
It's a $10 fix-it-ticket, put the plates back on and go see a cop to get it written off.I had a metermaid give me a plate ticket... jack asses.

Serge
Note to self: Don't go to California. Are plates in the window unacceptable?I've heard both yes and no. I keep mine in my glove box incase I park in a very metermaid ridden area.
T-5Bandit
Note to self: Don't go to California. Are plates in the window unacceptable?Technically yes. However, many do it, so it depends on how much of a hotdog the cop wants to be when he pulls you over.
AGBullit235
yeah its funny, when I moved back to California I noticed so many cars with no front plate. I was like "alright, I can have my V70R bumper with no plate." If I don't pay it, and I register my car here, the ticket will show up I assume. I would be registering it in LA county, not S.F.Metermaids!

Gioseppe
just say that you didn't get one in your old state, so you never had one.is the bumper drilled? if no, take a pic and send it to the judge, be like, this car doesn't get a front plate cause it wasn't drilled by the manufacturer. Playboy
I wouldn't pay the ticket. I'd fight it.A Cali cop cannot give you a ticket for something they don't have governing power of (i.e. out of state plates) maine rules. Thats like having an expired inspection w/ a NY car and getting a ticket in NJ for it. They can't.-Ryan

It sucks, I've gotten the fix-it ticket before up here.
