Threw A Code, Question...

Yeah, so I unplugged the wastegate for the track & for a few days...perfectly safe @ 22lbs, 10.6:1 AFR...etc. Not important. Threw some codes, read it with snap on scanner...

only one that matters to me/performance is this...

P0101 - Airflow out of range

Is this basically saying that the MAF is reading 100% airflow, therefore it defaults to pulling timing/richness. So have I reached the limit of the stock MAF? What's the explanation/solution? 3'' MAF from a 99+, just wait for MAP with EMS, or hack the MAF to a larger diameter pipe?

Also, threw a air/baro overload code or something, don't recall exactly...don't know if it's relevant to MAF.

Not what I meant, was gonna run a larger diameter MAF with larger injectors as per math/choosing. MAF would be increased linearly with injector size.

going about 49% larger injectors, so do the same with MAF...so 3.7'' about diameter.

Why even guess. You would be way off. Might as well random it. Plug the line back in get a MBC and see what happens.

How would I be way off? Stock size injector/new injector... multiply that by diameter of stock maf, add that number to diameter of stock maf. linear increase. I've always run with a MBC, never thrown this code...what I'm saying is that @ 22-23lbs the stock MAF is past it's limit, rather what I'm asking is..is it?

Your getting into a problem with more variables than your addressing. Slip angle, the thermo aspect, injector pulse timing and many other factors that will change when you just swap parts. The MAF on your car will out flow your engine. If anything the sensor is off-scale high. I doubt even that though. My 850s run 25psi and I know several S70s in that range.

there's people running that kind f boost on the stock MAF...

PUT A BOOST CONTROLLER IN AND TURN IT TO THE PSI YOU WANT

for the 100th time...joseph has to have like 10 laying arround, lol

:lol::lol: actually.. I have a dawes MBC literally brand new, untouched, new in box... bought it for a local then he backed out. Maybe you can put 2 on one car?

Would still be interested in seeing what a 3" V70R maf and green injectors would do.

I realize/know other people are running more boost on stock MAF...more of a question of when it would be outflowed...never? How is it that most other MAF cars outflow stock at somepoint, i.e., 240s going to Z32 MAFs, but we have god MAF? Fine with me I guess. I have a MBC (have run 22lbs with it, but decided to pull wastegate to see if I'd make more), have a EBC, have another EBC coming in...I don't care yada yada, turbo is blown, clutch is blown...motor is being pulled soon, literally everything is getting changed, don't care. Not gonna bend rods

Why green injectors Joe? I still run rich as hell @ 22lbs on stocks (realize they're prob @ 100% duty). Getting 630s anyways probably. Those Niemens fit right up eh?

I ran 27-28 psi at times and the car still ran fine with decent AFRs. It's all hot air at that point but eh.

If you want to do something then try it and tell us if it works. If you want to talk to us about it for awhile and do nothing you're off to a good start!

What did you run at the track?
