Is there any way you can confirm the mileage of the car? Have you had the obdii read? I'm curious about the odometer given everything else. Also, can you provide any sort of ballpark of what you're looking for?

Like I said, I will go take a look at the car within the next week to verify what the mileage is (I believe it's between 62-65K) and to take come updated pics of the car. The mileage has been previously checked when I found out about it's condition. I know someone who works for Volvo and had the serial #'s run on the block as well as check to make sure the miles are real. It all checked out. The engine and the turbo and everything else is original from 96 except obviously the rear clip.

I haven't really thought about what I really want for the car to be honest with you. I know I won't get even close to what I paid for. I'd like to get something pretty reasonable for it though. I know if I parted this thing out I could make a killing, but I don't have the time to do it.

once you figure out what you want for it, let me know please.

No problem. I'll let you know.

Tommarow, I'm leaving work early so I'm going to go check out the car and take some updated pics of her. At that point I will confirm the mileage on the odometer.

Ryan, I might missed it but how much do you want for this? salvage title is a bi-**

Honestly Ilya I havent thought of a specific price yet. I don't know what would be fair for the buyer as well as me so I wanted to see what people were willing to pay first off.

Technically, the car does not hold a salvage title, but it should considering the rear clip was welded into place. My shop that found the damage claims its extremely dangerous to drive in its present state. Thats why I'm highly suggesting to anyone who wants it, is to part the car out or reweld everything properly. I would have the owner sign paperwork releasing me of responsibility god forbid something were to happen to the party who bought the car due to it's current state.

update...

alright I went and checked out the car today. Wasn't as bad as I thought for not moving in over 6 months.

The odometer reads alittle over 60K on the car btw (there's a pic of it here). The volans I realized are pretty curbed up but are easily repairable. The pass side rear tail light has a small hole in it (the owner @ my shop apologized, happened in the winter when they were clearing snow off of it). The pass side from headlight (yes, I have e-codes on the car) has a star in it towards the lower right corner, its not in the center of the headlight. The engine was alittle dirty, but cleaner than some of the cars that are on this board *ducks* Everthing under the hood doesn't look that bad, the hoses don't seem too dryroted and they still seem strong and durable. I foregot that I took the center console piece below the ash tray out for a project and never finished it. I'll see if I can find that piece to put back in there. Other than the that, the back seat hasn't been put back together b/c the lawyers were recently up looking at the car and the damage. Anyways, heres the updated pics, let me know guys...I've had a few offers on the car but nothing too realistic yet.

*bump*

Alright I have been getting alot of questions from people on what I want to sell the car for. The reason for the delay is I wanted to talk it over w/ my shop and my tech and what they thought was a fair price for all.

After doing some research into "salvage cars" and talking with them I came up with a price. I'd like to get $6,000 for the car but I would let it go to a VS member for $5,000. If someone had the time, they could easily make there money back by parting the car out. Let me know what you all think. And again, if you have any questions at all feel free to contact me via in here, PM, IM, email, whatever.

dude, just part it out. keep that low mileage motor for a sick ass rebuild.

I hear ya man, but I don't have the room for this. My shop has been very gracious to help me out for the past few years to keep her here. My time is limited w/ storing her.

Am I not being fair w/ the price or does no one want this valuable piece/doesn't have the money?

I know this is againsts the rules, but is'nt $5,000-$6,000 a wee bit high for a car that is not safe to drive? You could find a T5R/R that is actually safe and driveable for that price range.

Good luck with the sale.
