96 850 R Black

Recommended Posts

for someone like me to buy the car it would be a used to swap out my interior and take the hood and basically strip to replace the things on my car I could only give you $1.500 then give it to the junk yard. However you are looking for a person that is capable of using a torch and even then it isn't worth the trouble of rewelding it. I really think you should part it out if you want to even get close to what your looking for. You could sell the engine to that guy who is getting a 850r for $300 and want's to swap that inito his s70na but we talked him out of it. So he still needs an engine.

I know I would be intrested in the interior dash and hood.

Good luck

Can you read?? It doesn't look like you can b/c I did state reasonable offers. If I wanted your opinion, I would have asked. 1,500 for the whole car?!?!? rediculous man. What do they put in the water up there?

ok easy buddy, I was pointing out that your target market is limited to people that can weld a car back together. You might want to think about parting out the car no need to get nasty.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE CAR IS WORTH

KBB

Vehicle Condition Ratings Check Vehicle Title History

Excellent (Selected)

$8,470

"Excellent" condition means that the vehicle looks new, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning. This vehicle has never had any paint or body work and is free of rust. The vehicle has a clean title history and will pass a smog and safety inspection. The engine compartment is clean, with no fluid leaks and is free of any wear or visible defects. The vehicle also has complete and verifiable service records. Less than 5% of all used vehicles fall into this category.

Good

$7,885

"Good" condition means that the vehicle is free of any major defects. This vehicle has a clean title history, the paint, body and interior have only minor (if any) blemishes, and there are no major mechanical problems. There should be little or no rust on this vehicle. The tires match and have substantial tread wear left. A "good" vehicle will need some reconditioning to be sold at retail. Most consumer owned vehicles fall into this category.

Fair

$7,125

"Fair" condition means that the vehicle has some mechanical or cosmetic defects and needs servicing but is still in reasonable running condition. This vehicle has a clean title history, the paint, body and/or interior need work performed by a professional. The tires may need to be replaced. There may be some repairable rust damage.

"The car was purchased in Jan 04. In April 04 my body shop (found when I was having it detailed) found out that the car had been cut half way down the C piller and underneath the rear seats and another 850 rear end was welded to the rest of the body."

I'M SORRY DID YOU SEE THAT DISCRIPTION IN THE ABOVE KKB

I didn't mean to offend just trying to help out.

In all seriousness have you looked into possibly taking a tax loss on the car. I wonder if you could because the car isn't drivable. I would be willing to bet if you sold the car for a $1 to a friend and took a loss on the original amount you paid for the car. Then have your friend sell the car for you and get the money and take a loss at the same time.

Since you have hired Lawyers they might be able to contact a tax advisor for you or they might know themselves.

Again I am sorry I didn't mean to offend.

Ryan, I know it sucks that you got hosed on this deal, but reality is reality. The car isn't worth dick. I don't think I'd offer you near what any body else has offered you, it worthless and completely unfit for driving and you know that. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the only way you get anything remotely close to what you are asking is to part it out, otherwise, bend over and grit your teeth cause it's gonna hurt.

actually there was a good idea above. i know around here you can donate a car(diabietes/deaf/sombody else too) and get book value as a tax deduction. they even come and get it.

mike

The car is a death trap, I know it, Ryan knows it and just about the entire website knows it. I'm sure the DMV knows it now since there is a lawsuit about this car being sold as something it is not(that being a safe road worthy car).

Assuming you sold everything the car would get 4-5k parted out. The engine and tranny would pull a grand, seats maybe a grand, radio 200ish, rims 700ish, doors and such another 500, so in all the parts are worth 5k. BUT, thats assuming you want to pull this thing down and LT a lot of parts. So lets say I buy it for 5k. If I bust my ass I can make 5k. So in the end I break even, invest a load of time, and end up with a pile of parts I cannot sell like brake pads, plastics bits, HAZMAT and so on. As for fixing it, that cannot be fixed. I doubt anyone would insure it even if you did. If you wanted to do a tube chassis or complete cage it should be ok. So if you want to be honest 3k for the whole car would be a good deal for both parties. I could dump 7k more into that and have a low 12second car.......

First honest and fair # Chuck that anyone has come up with. Thanks for the input.

This stuff makes me laugh, so hard. I think I may have parted out the most 850s of anyone on this board. and your price and expectations are laughable. You dont need to get pissed when someone offers you 1500. That is good for something non-fixable. Selling even R parts is harder and harder as people dont want to invest money into them. Engines are sellable with those miles, but you have to bust your jerk trying to find someone to buy it, that will pay that, and pay shipping. Seats, I am sure someone on here would buy them, but still will buck about shipping. The rims are an easy sell too. But the other stuff. HARD, you have to work and wait to sell that stuff. Doors at worth stuff! Go call strandburgs in WI or volvo, saab dismantlers in CA. or Erie Vovo. They get car like this, with low miles, and I know they dont pay near even $3000. I say if you want the money, do the work yourself cause no one will or should give you what your are asking.
