Audio Install Progress

Hi,

Thought I would document what I have done audio wise for my Volvo 850 wagon based on the information I have gathered here at Volvospeed, you guys rock!

Today I finally decided that I had enough information to go ahead and start investing in equipment and modifications.

I hope this post will be of informational value to others and I will keep it updates as I go along.

Sound dampening

I went ahead after reading Bings post about using tar sheets to get rid of rattling sound from the cars interior. Went to a local shop, found some sheets and had them installed by the guys who tinted my windows (done at the same time, got a nice deal on it). Cost my about 160USD with materials.

Headunit

I purchased an Alpine CDA-9835R headunit, was more expensive than I intended to spend on a HU but got a nice deal on it and it looks just darn sexy and is loaded with features (which I will probably never use)

Next up is:

Purchasing speakers

Deciding what to do with that free space since the HU is only 1 DIN

Deciding on a subwoofer, shall or not and where to place it?

Deciding on an amplifier, if I decide on a sub. Leaning towards it at the moment.

Installing the whole thing
