DARKSIDE
Hey guys, I have had a FPR in my garage for a while (I got it from a friend). I've been searching for info on how to install it, what lines to connect it to, and so on...I did search VS only to find 1 post (which actually related to installing a FPR)that didn't work when i clicked on it. So if any one here has done this type of install, could you please post a step-by-step guide of how it was done. The FPR I have is very similar to the one found HERE at VMS. Yellow95
I am confused. Your car comes with a FPR? Do you mean an adjustable FPR or an FMU?Gary
prasamin
if you see the link, it's an upgrade to the stock FPR. lines should be the same as stock.
Yellow95
you will need to bypass, or hollow out your stock unit. If not it will override the other.Gary
DARKSIDE
Honestly, I'm not sure if my car (98' S70 GLT) comes with a standard FPR. The one I have now, which isn't installed is an ajustable Fuel Pressure Regulator. Do you know where I can find the stock FPR in the S70? I really need to know exactly which lines to connect each part of the FPR to...
JHEIII874T5M
look at the fuel rail, probably sitting right on it, passenger side, on the underside of the rail... vacuum line leading to it.

JHEIII874T5M
The S70 should have the FPR inside the fuel tank. mine is definitely on the fuel rail... the fuel pump, however, is inside the fuel tank.
Johann
Double fuel line over the engine, regulator in the fuel rail. Single fuel line at the engine, regulator under the passenger foot well(?)

Yellow95
You cant use an AFPR on a returnless system though.Gary
DARKSIDE
Ok, so let me see if I understand...I should first check and see how many fuel lines run over the engine (which I believe I have two)If there's only one (1) line, then an AFPR can't be installed , butif there are two (2) lines, then an AFPR CAN BE INSTALLED... At that point and time I should look to the passenger side, under the fuel rail to locate the stock fuel pressure regulator...Seems like this is going to be my weekend project...thanks again guys...I really appreciate the input -Omar
BlackT5
I've been told that you can change the returnless system to old return style, but have no information on the actual steps involved.Like Johann said, if only one line going over the motor, follow the line back behind the motor and you'll see the FPR. You might* have to remove the turbo heatshield. I'd snap a picture but my camera is getting fixed since the lens stuck open.
550
IIRC you just need to add one line to do it. and then a source of vacuum. I was told I should do this because fuel is much more easily delivered, and faster.
