I was wanting to know it anyone has tried to put 3.5's in the rear stock tweeter location in a wagon. I was thinking that it might be possible to trim out the tweeter mounting and fit a 3.5 in there. think its possible? Might make for a good location for a solid mid.

Well you know just the occasional "job" but the people in the back dont have the ability to hear anymore anyway! HAHA J/K I am looking for a good all around sound. I figured that they might give good sound for the back seat and a little for the front. I was looking to do 5.25 in the front and rear doors and tweets in the dash and 3.5s in the back. The I will have a 10in sub in the rear driver corner. I am thinking that it should be a pretty good sound.

then you should get kickpods.. :)

well I would but I would do just what they are called and end up kicking the crap out of them and destroying them. I want speakers in the stock locations but to be able to create a good sound from there. Kids will be along soon and I want to keep them away from "playing" with things.

fair enough, to be honest, the ones that bing made me are so small, that people rarely even brush up against them with their feet.

Kicks are awesome, the ones Bing sold me are freakin huge, and I still never kick them. A 3.5" component is all but useless as they're designed for general frequencies and not very loud. If you put a 3.5" regular component in there, you'd have a lot of sound coming from the back, but with muddy highs, no low's, and general high-end distortion. The only thing you could mount that would be even worth your while is a mid-high driver / tweeter, but then that'd be one weird-sounding soundstage...

While I can understand not wanting custom enclosures, etc - the rear locations in the wagon are totally useless, and the front ones aren't much better (unless you have tweeters that do well off-axis to put in them). Make the best out of your doors or go custom.
