echristodo
My friend has a 1998 S70 T5 with about 120k, 70k on a new engine, and his car wont start. It struggles when turning over and sometimes will start, barley idle at 900, and then die again. MAF sensor...?
connorb850
MAF is possible, see if unplugging it makes the car run any better. Also, any codes?

dmelviØØ7
I know the guy, I bet it was lack of oil changes Never did get the entire story on that. Anyways, tell Toby to unplug the MAF like the other guy said, you know where it is? Don't forget to put the zip tie back on, 98 only recall. echristodo
So I went over to the buddies house this afternoon to try and defibulate his car and the thing started up with protest and then eventually was running relatively smoothly... on its own! Condensation in the distributor? Gnomes crawling through the intake?
Mr. Norm
So I went over to the buddies house this afternoon to try and defibulate his car and the thing started up with protest and then eventually was running relatively smoothly... on its own! Condensation in the distributor? Gnomes crawling through the intake?I had a similar problem, turned out to be the temp sensor by the thermostat. Mine would start only if I had my foot on the brake pedal, it would catch and idle real rough for 2-4 minutes, then run ok again.

Clean the old one... would unplugging it take care of it?
Mr. Norm
My IM is able to monitor the performance of the temp sensor, dunno how. If you are in Chicago I could send you to him.
