Dan (s70turbo1999) and I were throwing around some ideas of a get together to counter the crappiness of Bill Kidd's. We figured a get together to BBQ or something chill like that for everyone to have a good time, like crc1185 said meets are more fun when there is something to do. The time frame we are shooting for is Mid July. We do have an idea, but the location and time are still questionable because we are not yet sure who all would be interested and that’s the reason for this post. There are ideas like parks, houses, or restaurants possibly. Before we go ahead and finalize a date and place, we just wanted to see if there was enough interest out there for it to happen. We could meet at a restaurant then cruise to someone's house, go to a park and chill for the day, BBQ at the park or at someone's house. BBQ is sounding like a real good idea in my opinion, nothing better then hanging around on a nice day with nice cars and good food haha. we should invite bill kidd too, just not have a parking space for him... lax01 Posted June 7, 2006 Report Share Posted June 7, 2006 it would work well if the meet corresponded to another MIR track day...that way there is stuff to do...meets are great but they do get boring when you already know everybody, seen each others car a million times and are just sitting around being bored...I'd much rather a meet have a drive/cruise associated with it...EastCoastEuros (another board) meets every Tuesday in Alexandria (I know its far but we could meet up at one of those)EastCoastBoost (yet another board) meets every Thursday in Alexandria as well, they chill and then goto a resturant in a large group (the one time I went, we had like 50 people at the restaurant)...and they don't goto McDonalds, we went to a nice resturant.Or we could all just meet up at Starbucks one Friday night and take a cruise into Georgetown...go down to the waterfront for pictures and then hit some nice backroads on the way back....just throwing out ideas... I know a few Euros meet in Howard County at the Krisp Kreme off Snowden River Parkway. I went to one meet and it was all VWs aside from Danny and myself.
